You're more than what brought you here.

Whatever brought you here, therapy can offer a place to understand it, find new ways forward, and begin to experience life differently.

You may recognize yourself here

People come to my practice for many different reasons, and at different points in their lives.

You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, grief or a significant life transition. Something may have happened recently that has left you struggling, or experiences from much earlier in life may continue to affect how you feel, relate to others or experience yourself.

Sometimes the picture is more complex. Trauma, relationships, emotional regulation, identity, mental health and life circumstances can overlap in ways that don't fit neatly into a single explanation.

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong—or what kind of therapy you need—to begin. We can start with where you are.

I’m Sherry Slejska, a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist providing evidence-informed, integrative psychotherapy.

Our work begins by understanding what you’re experiencing, what may be contributing to it, and what you need now.

Sometimes therapy is practical and structured—focused on safety, emotional regulation, coping, or change in everyday life. At other times, the work involves exploring relationships, longstanding patterns, trauma, or earlier experiences that continue to shape the present.

Often, good therapy moves between both.

Using Extended Health Benefits or Other Insurance Coverages

Psychotherapy services are provided by a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW). Receipts are provided and may be submitted to extended health benefit plans that include coverage for social work services.

Because coverage varies by plan, you may wish to confirm that your benefits include services provided by a Registered Social Worker.

Understanding what lies beneath the surface

Symptoms matter—and so does understanding what may be contributing to them.

Together, we can look at what’s happening now while also making sense of the experiences, relationships, and adaptations that may have shaped how you respond to yourself, other people, and the world around you.

For some people, this includes trauma or difficult earlier experiences. For others, it may involve longstanding relationship patterns, beliefs about themselves or others, or ways of coping that once served an important purpose but are no longer working as well.

Understanding doesn’t mean staying in the past. It can create more choice in the present.
